On the western shore of Lake Maggiore, a historic lakefront palace is being reborn as a year-round destination of grand hospitality, set between the Alps and the water, a short transfer from Milan.
Heritage
A legacy of grand lakeside hospitality
The property traces its origins to an 1865 lakefront villa built for the Durazzo family of Genoa, later rebuilt and enlarged into one of the region's grand hotels. In its heyday it welcomed illustrious guests, from Queen Victoria to Winston Churchill, who spent part of his honeymoon here in 1908. That storied legacy is being carried forward for a new era.
The project
Heritage architecture, reimagined
Baveno Palace pairs the restored historic building with an extensive new development set into the hillside above the lake. The plans bring together suites and rooms, an expansive spa and wellness offering, a private lakefront with beach and pier, and a curated collection of restaurants, bars and boutiques, conceived for year-round operation rather than a short summer season.
A destination on Lake Maggiore
Beyond a hotel
Baveno Palace is a founding partner of the Maggiore Destination Foundation, an initiative to establish Lake Maggiore among the world's leading high-end destinations. With direct access to Milan and its airports, the resort is positioned for an international audience throughout the year.
The project is currently under development. Operator and opening details will be announced in due course.
